July 9th, A Day of Student Resistance Against the Islamic Oppressors

Alliance of Iranian Students:

This year the anniversary of the July '99 student uprising coincides with the regime's newly elected president Ahmadinejad. The final result of this election proved to be a complete disaster for the Islamic regime as a mere 17 million out of 47 million eligible voters actually voted for the new president.

Since the July 1999 student uprising in Tehran University, voters' turnout for presidential elections have continuously decreased significantly, not to mention the absolute disregard for parliamentary and city council elections. The July 9th student demonstrations in actuality were the total separation of the students from the so-called reformist movement, which proved to be an absolute failure. It has become long manifested that the problem does not lie with the elected candidates, however with the entire framework of the Islamic Republic. Parliamentary or presidential elections hold absolutely no significance as the monopoly of powers rests within the Guardian Council, the Expediency Council, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, the Assembly of Experts, and the Supreme Leader.

Noble People and of Iran, the Islamic Republic has created a corrupt wasteland in our beloved Iran. Day by day we observe the growing number of suicides amongst our youth. We observe the growing number of our women being sold as sex slaves to abroad countries as a means of national capital income.

We remember those brave students such as Ezzat Ebrahimnejad, who in the path of freedom has sacrificed his life. We standby all imprisoned students and political activists, whom remain captive in the torturous Islamic prison cells based on their thoughts and beliefs.

On the anniversary of July 9th, we will voice our objection to the Islamic regime and chant anti-regime slogans such as:

"Zendani Siasi Azad Bayad Gardad!" (Political Prisoners Must Be Freed!),

"Daneshjooye Zendani Azad Bayad Gardad!" (Student Prisoners Must Be Freed!),

"Refrandum Refrandum, In Ast Shoare Mardom!" (Referendum Referendum, This Is The People's Slogan!),

"Diktatore Pinoshe, Iran Shili Nemishe!" (Tyrant Pinochet, Iran Will Not Become Chile!),

"Seyyed Ali Haya Kon, Saltanat Ra Rahaa Kon!" (Seyyed Ali [Khamanei] Resign, Let Go Of Monarchy!),

"Ansar Jenayat Mikonad, Rahbar Hemayat Mikonad" (Ansar [Hezbollah] Does Crime, The Leader Supports This),

"Hokomate Zoor Nemikhahim, Akhonde Mozdoor Nemikhahim" (We Don't Want A Dictatorial Rule, We Don't Want A Hired Cleric),

"Toop Tank Bassiji, Digar Asar Nadarad" (Guns Tanks Bassijs, No Longer Have Effect),

"Hokomate Akhoondi, Bar Kenar Bar Kenar" (Clerical Rule, Move Aside Move Aside),

"Daneshjooye Mobarez, Rahat Edame Dad" (Student Fighter, Continue Your Path),

... The International Alliance of Iranian Students calls upon all Iranians worldwide to take an active stance on July 9, 2005 (18 Tir 1384) with freedom-demanding slogans and a demand to end repression and injustice.
